Jeremy Jones Freestyle Snowboarding

Snowboarding pioneer and nine-time Big Mountain Rider of the Year, Jeremy Jones started his career the old-fashioned way—on a hill in his backyard. He began on the East Coast racing circuit, but one trip to Jackson Hole convinced Jeremy that going big was his destiny. Jeremy’s powerful, improbable heli-accessed descents on Alaska’s steepest terrain are featured in a long list of films spanning the past two decades. In 2009 he shifted gears, deciding to make backcountry snowboarding his priority and founding Jones Snowboards, which caters to big-mountain and backcountry riders. He also vowed to forego helicopters, opting instead for self-powered ascents. When not on the road for his latest adventure, Jeremy lives in Truckee, California, and rides at Squaw Valley with his wife and daughter. He is also working on the final installment of the Deeper, Further, Higher documentary trilogy.
