Scotty Bahrke Freestyle Aerials, Olympian, World Cup Champion

Scotty Bahrke started off following in his sister Shannon’s footsteps, but then he took off in a different direction—straight up. Until 2005 the Tahoe City, California, native and Squaw Valley Freestyle Team star was a triple threat, in moguls, aerials, and big air. But when he qualified for World Cup in aerials and went on to win the 2005 NorAm title, he realized his future was, quite literally, up in the air. After focusing on aerials, he competed in the World Championships in 2007 and 2009. Then in 2010, while in Vancouver to root for his big sister at the Olympics, he was named to the team himself just five days before the competition, replacing a teammate who was ill. His first World Cup podium came in 2011 and his first victory in 2012. The toughest part of his sport? “Knowing you’re going to crash big once or twice a year, but not knowing when it’s coming.”

Scotty is a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, so of course his beanie had to be green and yellow. But you can make it in the colors of your own favorite team!
