The Designer

Diane Soucy

Diane Soucy was the 'knitting lady' in a small shop in her mountain town for 15 years, helping knitters choose yarn and giving first aid to problem projects.
"It was this experience that helped me see what knitters want to knit, especially in outdoor and sportswear. The first design I wrote was an earflap hat in the 1980s. My company, Knitting Pure & Simple now sells more than 100 thousand patterns a year, in yarn shops and as downloads. Warm, breathable and elastic, knitwear for outdoor sports has long been shown to be the favorite.

Ski sweaters have been the preferred outfit for many skiiers since the 1920s. I'm glad that Stitch Mountain gave me the chance to design a comfortable easy sweater!"

Since Jeff is known for his crazy fast skiing, he was hoping to have a sweater with ski marks down the sleeves to represent him skiing down a hill.
